Etta Ng, daughter of Hollywood star Jackie Chan, has come out publicly on Instagram.
In a post on Thursday, the 18-year-old shared a picture of herself against a rainbow backdrop with hashtags #lgbt and #lesbian.

Around the same time Ng's post went up, another was posted by Canadian social media influencer Andi Autumn, seemingly confirming their relationship.

The 30-year-old online personality, who also lives in Hong Kong with Ng, said in her caption: "We've encountered a lot of discrimination from family, friends and the Hong Kong society...But none of it matters when I know every morning [you're] going to be next to me."
Ng is the child of Jackie Chan and Hong Kong actress Elaine Ng. She has said in previous reports that she is not in contact with him, and that the martial arts star has "never been in [her] life."
Chan and her mother dated briefly.
Ng's coming out post has been received largely positively from Chinese netizens.
"Happiness is all that matters!" said one commenter.
"Support the ability and freedom to love," said another.
"Love is a blessing," said one.
China's communist government has worked to ban LGBTQ themes in film and broadcast media, but the country's growing pool of vocal millennials are more supportive, and more examples of acceptance at the ground level are being covered by local media.
